You will have seen or heard about the national activity planned for 30 June 2026 in connection with anti-immigration demonstrations. The St Francis Bay Community Policing Forum (CPF) wants to keep our community informed and to share what we know. Security measures are in place across the Kouga area and the situation is being actively managed by the relevant authorities.

What We Know

SAPS has confirmed that no official application for a march has been received for the Kouga area. Any march that takes place up to and including 30 June 2026 will therefore be regarded as illegal and handled accordingly.
The following security measures have been confirmed for the Kouga area:
✅ SAPS has reinforced manpower in place, with contingency plans ready.
✅ The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) has been deployed in the Kouga area in support of SAPS.
✅ Law enforcement agencies, security companies and Community Policing Forums have confirmed their support for SAPS.
✅ Regular loud-hailing messages will be broadcast across the Kouga area to inform the public and discourage illegal conduct.
Should an illegal march take place, residents and businesses are advised to immediately secure their property if it is located on a potential protest route.

A Note on Our Engagement with Authorities

The St Francis Bay CPF has reached out to both the St Francis Bay SAPS station Commander and Kouga Municipality to request any further local guidance ahead of 30 June. We have not yet received a response and will follow up. We will share any additional information with the community as it comes to hand.

Our Community

St Francis Bay is home to people from many different backgrounds. That is part of what makes it a good place to live. Foreign nationals and those who may be perceived as foreigners are members of our community. Any intimidation, harassment, or violence against them is unlawful and will be taken seriously. If you witness such an incident, report it to SAPS immediately.
We also ask that residents treat any information circulating on social media with caution. Rumours and exaggerated reports can cause unnecessary anxiety. If you are unsure about something you have seen or heard, check with a credible source before sharing it.

A Few Sensible Steps for 30 June

The CPF is not asking anyone to change their plans or stay at home. We simply ask that residents keep the following in mind:
👉 Stay informed through credible sources. The CPF will share updates through community channels as they come to hand.
👉 If you see something that concerns you, report it. Do not intervene yourself. Contact SAPS on 042 200 1817 or 10111.
👉 Businesses on busy routes may wish to consider whether any additional security measures are appropriate on the day.
👉 Share information through your security groups rather than through open social media platforms.
