RIP Deon, you were my neighbour just up the road, fellow waterman and great surfer. Always a smile and you ripped on that kitesurfboard. I loved how you used a surfboard, not a fancy kiteboard and made sections on the beachie I could only dream of making. This is an absolute tragedy, gone too soon. I hope the scumbags who did this are caught and rot in jail.

An absolute gentleman and the best windsurfer I have ever seen
Allways friendly and courteous in the water and most importantly humble
The world is a lesser place without him

Deon, you were my friend, the kindest soul I ever had the honour to know. I was devastated by the news of your passing. Just last week we spoke about your new boat, your next adventure, and now, just like that, you are gone.
Gone too soon, Deon. The world has lost a soul that was too kind, a surfer, a boat builder, an entrepreneur, a dreamer, and my friend.
May your legend walk amongst us for decades to come. May your gentle soul rest in peace. You will be deeply missed, Deon.

RIP Deon. Always the kind person, and always the helpful gentleman. Remembering the long ago spearfishing days on the wildside. Condolences to the family.
