SSEG installations include solar panels, wind energy generation, inverters, and the use of generators.

Section 39(1) of the Kouga Municipality Electrical Supply By-law as promulgated by the municipality on 22 February 2021, together with the provisions of the SSEC policy, provides that SSEG installations may not be installed without the approval of the municipality and such installations must be conducted by service providers registered at, and certified by, applicable regulatory bodies.

Any failure to so register the SSEG installations constitutes a contravention of the by-law.
