The Sea Vista Community Umbrella
An African proverb says: If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. This inspires the people involved in the Sea Vista Community Umbrella.
One afternoon, a small group of friends was chatting about the various activities and projects they knew were happening in the Sea Vista community. It became clear to them that the important thing is to work together, support each other, and, in that way, make an impact on the lives of those living in Sea Vista. This was the spark that ignited the idea of the Sea Vista Community Umbrella.
A meeting was held in the community hall in Sea Vista where people came together to pool ideas, inform and be informed of the various projects and activities in Sea Vista. The purpose was to inspire and encourage one another to develop opportunities for the upliftment and empowerment of the residents of Sea Vista.
The vision of the Sea Vista Community Umbrella is to collaborate, help, and encourage one another. As those who live and work in the greater St. Francis area, we want to partner in imagining and building a better life for all.
Did you know that close to 40 projects are currently running in Sea Vista? They cover spheres including sports and physical fitness, animal welfare, disaster management, environment and conservation, community care, education and skills development, mentorship, arts education, crafts, health and medical assistance, soup kitchens, entrepreneurship, gardening, and horticulture.
