It Was A Calamari Classic! Looking Back At The 2024 Calamari Festival
Wow, what a week it was! It was a busy program filled with entertainment, sporting activities, markets, and so much more. This year’s CALAMARI FESTIVAL, which for the first time took place over eight days instead of the usual three days, proved to be a success for St Francis, and it was a Calamari Classic!
The Calamari Route was launched and will be promoted throughout the year, and St Francis has established itself as the Calamari Capital of South Africa.
It Was A Calamari Classic
A recent survey provided constructive feedback on what could be done better, but overall, the results were positive. We look forward to implementing some of the suggestions for next year’s festival, the dates of which will be announced in due course.
“We went a long way in achieving our objective of growing the festival into an event that puts St Francis firmly on the map for the benefit of the local economy.” says Dionne Collett, Chair of St Francis Tourism, “ I would like to express my gratitude to all of those who went the extra mile in growing the festival and showing that we truly are a special destination!”
