Kouga Municipality successfully repaired a total of 12 813 potholes across the region between 1 April 2024 and 30 June 2024.
The breakdown of repairs includes:
4 012 potholes in Jeffreys Bay
3 211 potholes in Humansdorp
1 316 potholes in the Gamtoos Valley
4 274 potholes in St Francis Bay
This underscores the municipality’s commitment to maintaining and improving local road infrastructure.
The municipality will continue its efforts to repair potholes, ensuring safer and smoother roads for all residents and visitors.

Our road was done, you should see it now… This is like putting a sticking plaster on a broken leg.
There are a few key areas that need a proper solution, like Harbour road between the village and Santareme, it needs a proper drain, the road gets completely potchasm’d whenever we have a significant rain event. The cost of repairs to that road must be really high, please put in something to fix it once properly.
