Such a happy Christmas celebration was enjoyed by residents of Ons Tuiste in Humansdorp on Saturday afternoon when we arrived with 100 Golden Oldies gift bags for the special people in the Care Centre. The bags were filled with both essential hygiene products and sweet treats and were handed out at our annual tea party to those able to attend. Our special guests were joyously entertained with Christmas Carols sung by the St Francis College choir and were also treated to the most beautifully decorated Christmas cup cakes specially created for the event by our Village Super Spar.
Golden Oldies Gift Bags Celebration At Ons Tuiste
Our enormous appreciation goes to the children of St Francis College who adopted the Golden Oldies Gift Bags as their Thoughtful Thursday project. They created special individually decorated and filled bags to add to every Gift Bag given to Ons Tuiste, with each including a special message for the lucky recipient. The College choir sang beautifully for their guests, many of whom joined in happily to their favourite tunes.
Thank you too to our amazing Village SuperSpar who really went the extra mile to make Golden Oldies possible this year. Thanks again to everyone who contributed by donating R10 with each purchase at Spar to help us fill these bags which bring so much pleasure to our most needy senior citizens.
The balance of the gift bags will be distributed to the most needy amongst Hospice patients and in the Sea Vista community during December.
