Get Ready For Our Next Seal Point Boardriders GromComp This Friday

From our last Grom event
The Seal Point Boardriders Club will have a fun afternoon Grom Comp at the beach this Friday, July 26.

Small and Fun

The wave forecast shows small and fun for the Seal Point Boardriders Club GromComp, with offshore winds and a nice arvi at the beach.
Shane Thorne will be the ‘contest director’, and we have prizes and treats for the kids sponsored by The Bakery and The Pig and Rooster.

Club Merch

Our club merchandise has arrived and will be available for pickup during the contest. So, if you ordered and paid for any merchandise, please come down to the beach to collect your club tees, caps, beanies, hoodies, etc.

We have also received our AED (automated external defibrillator) device and a new comprehensive First Aid Kit. We will do an official handover and thank our sponsors, Rotary St Francis, Billy’s Beach, and Ventria on the beach. After the tragedy at the beach last year when a surfer, unfortunately, passed away while surfing at Seals, the club decided to obtain an AED device and a comprehensive First Aid Kit in case of emergencies.
AEDs are used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. They are sophisticated yet easy-to-use medical devices that can analyze the heart’s rhythm and, if necessary, deliver an electrical shock or defibrillation to help the heart re-establish an effective rhythm.
The device is designed to be user-friendly, with clear instructions on how to use it in an emergency. Everyone needs to know what an AED is and how to use it, as it could save someone’s life.
We plan on storing our AED and first aid kit at The Pound gym.
Now that the serious stuff is done, remember that Friday is also a social function. So bring down a few dops and a little braai or some other chow and come and hang out at the car park on Friday afternoon.
See you there.
