Kouga Local Municipality would like to inform residents that its Law Enforcement Section will continue the impoundment of stray animals across the municipal area.

Impounded animals will be transported to the private pound at Farm 865 Mooiuitzicht on the R102 in Jeffreys Bay. The facility has been established in compliance with all legislative requirements governing the operation of animal pounds.

The 4.5-hectare facility provides dedicated grazing camps for different types of livestock, including cattle, donkeys, horses, ostriches, sheep, goats and pigs. The camps are equipped with water troughs, feeding facilities, natural shade and shelter, while additional handling camps allow for the treatment and care of injured animals.

Residents are reminded that livestock owners are responsible for ensuring that their animals are properly contained and do not roam freely, cause damage to property, or create hazards on public roads.

Stray animals can be reported to the Kouga Call Centre on 042 200 2200 or via WhatsApp on 081 760 9183.
