A morning of fresh air, community spirit and practical environmental action is coming to the St Francis coastline with the upcoming Kromme Enviro-Trust Beach Clean-Up Day.

Taking place on Sunday, 12 April from 9am to 12pm, the event invites residents, visitors and local organisations to spend a few hours helping keep the coastline clean and healthy. Beach clean-ups have become a popular way for communities to contribute directly to the protection of marine environments, and the St Francis area continues to show strong support for initiatives like this.
Participants will gather at several starting points along the coastline before spreading out across nearby beach sections to collect litter and debris. The clean-up starting locations include Pig & Rooster Lighthouse Car Park, Sunset Rock Car Park at the end of Maori Avenue, Bruce’s Ocean Café & Museum on Harbour Road, and Otters Landing in Port St Francis.
Volunteers can arrive at any of these points on the morning of the event, where clean-up bags will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring gloves or litter tongs if they have them available.
Eco-Kids Activities
The day is designed to be accessible for the whole community. Families are welcome, and younger volunteers will also have a chance to take part through the Eco-Kids activity based around Seal Point, where prizes will add a fun element to the morning.
Events like this offer more than just a cleaner shoreline. They also help build awareness about the importance of reducing pollution, protecting marine life, and caring for the coastal environments that define the St Francis lifestyle.
