Dawn Patrol Wines is dedicated to protecting the ocean environment: from the marine wildlife beneath its waves, to the pristine beaches lapped by its tides. ‘Dawn Patrol’ is a tradition that sees surfers getting up before sunrise to search the coast(s) for the perfect swell. Being in the backline as the sun comes up is hard to explain. For surfers, the stoke of the ‘dawnie’ is sacred. It has the power to inspire and uplift.

But if we don’t take care of our oceans, we lose this source of upliftment and all that the marine environment contains.

Wine Of The Week: Dawn Patrol

Because of this love, Dawn Patrol Wines was founded by winemaker & surfer, Trizanne Barnard, in 2015 with the aim for something more. She saw an opportunity through which she could not only link her craft for winemaking & passion for surfing but bring about positive change by giving back to communities & the environment on a monetary & knowledge-based level.
We are not just another wine-in-a-can brand, we are looking for innovative ways to look after our planet & inspire others whilst doing so, because there is “No Planet B”.

VINIFICATION
The harvesting of these grapes took place in the middle of February and continued for two weeks. The different Sauvignon Blanc parcels were fermented separately after which they were left on the lees for a few months before meticulous blending took place.
