What’s On At The SUPERSPAR

The war in Ukraine has not been helping prices, but we at the SPAR have been doing what we can to keep our prices down. We also have some exciting new products on shelves, some fantastic specials going on, especially for those in the nappy market, and some news on the ever-increasing price of chicken.

New Products

We’re happy and proud to be introducing Royal Karoo Venison. Venison is good for you. It has more protein than any other red meat, which means it sates the appetite really well. It is also particularly rich in iron which prevents anaemia and is good for energy levels. In addition, it’s full of B vitamins: B2 (riboflavin) and B3 (niacin), which help regulate metabolism. It also contains vitamin B6 and B12, which may lower homocysteine build-up in the blood, thus lowering the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

Steri Nappi Is Trending Right Now

We have experienced numerous enquiries regarding Steri Nappi, as the current quality of the water is making everything white look a bit beige. Steri Nappi can be used on bed linen, towels, cricket and karate outfits, and tablecloths, not just for nappies.

Nappy Thursday

Sticking to the theme of nappies, we have introduced Nappy Thursday. SPAR Rewards customers get an instant R20 off on selected Pampers Diapers every Thursday until 31 July 2022.
Offer includes Active Baby Diapers, Pants, Pampers Value Packs, Jumbo Packs, Premium Care Range, and the Mega Box in all sizes.
Offer excludes Pampers Carry-Pack.
Offer only valid to SPAR Rewards customers with a maximum of 3 e-coupons per customer daily.

The Chicken Price Tsunami

Chicken is the most affordable source of protein in South Africa. Still, we have experienced a steady increase in costs partly due to duties, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on the value of feed and food security, and increases in domestic transport and electricity dues. This means that the country is “facing a chicken-price tsunami.

The National Treasury’s recent decisions to temporarily reduce a levy on fuel prices and delay an increase in duties on sugar-sweetened drinks could pave the way to keep chicken prices down.

SPAR is following the situation closely and will keep our customers informed.
