LOCKDOWN:

South Africa gets new level 1 restrictions for Easter – these are the changes  –  President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced that government will introduce new restrictions for South Africa ahead of the Easter weekend.

Beer lobby slams Ramaphosa’s ‘heavy-handed’ halt on liquor sales  –  ‘There is also no scientific evidence that the off-site sales of alcohol might lead to an increased spread of the virus,’ says the Beer Association of SA.

Ace Magashule has 30 days to bend reality in his direction – not an easy task  –  Magashule is likely to refuse to step aside. That will lead to a process of suspension. And he is likely to challenge that in court. 

Cosatu, SACP stand by the ANC as they welcome ‘step aside’ decision  –  ANC tripartite alliance partners Cosatu and the SA Communist Party have hailed the party’s national executive committee decision that corruption-accused members must step aside or face suspension.
