International Coastal Cleanup

International Coastal Cleanup takes place this year on Saturday 19 September, and all are invited to take part in this global drive and make a difference to our local beaches.

There is a lot of rubbish along our coast, and the St Francis Kromme Trust and SANCCOB are committed to have their coastline cleaned up. Please join us for an hour, that’s all we are asking. You can collect a bag at the starting zone of your choice (as shown on the map) at 10am and the Kouga Municipality will remove the filled bags later in the day.

The zones are:
– Heritage Eco Centre in Harbour Road
– Squid Square at Port St Francis
– Boulders Beach at the end of St Francis Drive (to clean towards Shark Point)
– Seal Point Lighthouse and Sunset Rock in Cape St Francis, from where you will clean towards Mosterts Hoek.

This is a HUGE and exciting undertaking for the whole community here in our area with many organisations, besides the St Francis Kromme Trust and SANCCOB, that are involved, namely: St Francis Bay Residents Association, FOSTER, Joint River Committee, The Riparians, Cape St Francis Civics, The Port, Kromme Shareblock, Sea Vista School, St Francis Paddling Club, NSRI, St Francis College, St Francis Kromme Trust Eco-tots, and Oyster Bay Residents.

So join in on this fun day and come along at 10h00 on Saturday 19 September, roll up your sleeves, and fill a bag – or even two!
