YOU ARE INVITED TO BE PART OF THE SIBANYE SEA VISTA CLEAN-UP
The Sibanye Ladies’ Group in Sea Vista is committed to improving the standard of living in their community and have pledged to work together towards making Sea Vista a safe and healthy living environment.
The ladies recognise that the appalling build up of rubbish in their town is polluting their environment and posing a health risk to everyone living in the community.
They are organising a community clean-up day on Saturday June 9th 2018 and are engaging with their church groups, schools, sports teams and Stokvels to join them on this day to work to clean up their streets and common areas.
In order to achieve their objective the ladies need assistance with donations of clean-up tools such as rubber gloves, black bags, rakes etc. In addition, they are looking for sponsors for the transport which is needed to remove the collected rubbish to the Humansdorp tip. In some places the rubbish dumps are so large that a TLB or similar machine will be needed to help gather and load the rubbish onto trucks.
The ladies believe that cleaning up their town will help restore Sea Vista residents’ pride in their town and encourage them to join various community projects to work towards keeping Sea Vista safe and clean for the benefit of all.
The ladies plan to follow this up with educational and motivational programmes aimed at uplifting members of their community, particularly the young and unemployed.
If you or your organisation would be prepared to assist with donations or sponsorship please contact Mrs Alice Kaunda on 079 154 7070.
Those wishing to donate money towards the Sibanye cause can do so through the Rotary Satellite Club of St Francis who will administer the fund on their behalf.

Your kind support and generous assistance will be deeply appreciated.
How fantastic for this group to try and get their town cleaned up. Surely the Municipal equipment and vehicles should be used to get rid of the rubbish and get them off to a good start as the skips provided are not sufficient in all sites not just along the main road. Maybe it would be good to contribute for overtime for Kouga staff to help them, along with volunteers they are organising, in the mammoth task they face as rubbish is also dropped off by others. Such a pity there is no space for a compost site for garden refuse which would give jobs, and income in time, as such a waste to take to Humansdorp as well as bad for environment. All part of needs for recycling too.
