2022 South African Junior Team selected to compete in ISA World Surfing Championships in El Salvador

The Surfing South Africa Board has ratified the team that will represent South Africa at the 2022 ISA World Junior Surfing Championships from May 27th to June 5th

The last ISA World Junior Championships took place in the USA in 2019.

The U18 Boys in the team are Connor Slijpen (Llandudno,Western Cape), Daniel Emslie (East London,Eastern Cape) and  Luke Thompson (Durban, KZN) and the U18 Girls are Adriel Wolmarans and Aimee du Preez (both East London) and Indophile Osinachi (Durban)

Nate Colby,Ntokozo Maphumalo (both Durban) and Luc Lepront (Scottburgh,KZN)  make up the U16 Boys group with Sarah Scott (Kommetjie,Western Cape). Gemma Hanafey (East London) and Zia Hendricks (Jeffreys Bay, Eastern Cape) competing in the U16 Girls section of the tournament.

SSA Operations Manager Rezar de Nicker is the Team Manager and the experienced Tasha Mentasti is the Team Coach.

Surfing South Africa is the National Governing body for the sport in South Africa. SSA is a member of the South African Sports Commission and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) and the International Surfing Association (ISA).
