Herewith is our latest entry from a Cape St Francis homeowner who also wishes to remain anonymous for now.
It is a wonderful poem, written from the heart:
CAPE ST FRANCIS
Even though the wind may
blow
It takes a lot to dim the
glow
Of our stunning sunset out at
sea
As we gaze from rocks where one can be
Along the rocky shoreline
coast
Cape St Francis is the
host
With so much history buried
here
The lighthouse holds her mysteries
near
It shines it’s light around the
bay
As night descends and ends the
day
It’s such a comforting
display
As ships sail by so far
away
The walks along the westward
side
So peaceful here with shifting
tide
Sometimes the crashing waves so
loud
As the sky is filled with wispy
cloud
Our birds are flying all
around
As we wander through their
home ground
The Heron flies past
overhead
And Seagulls cry as they are
lead
Across the undulating
swells
That carry fresh untainted
smells
Further down along the
shore
You’ll hear the distant plaintive
call
As whistling Oystercatchers
stand
Amid the shale of age old
land
You may just see a breeching
whale
As it does its twist from head to
tail
They head south-west as we
know
Whilst we get to watch them spout
and blow
So much to see when we
stray
Away from mundane day to
day.
