THERE has been a slight decrease in the number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kouga region.
Active Covid-19 cases totalled 138 on June 30 according to the latest report from the Department of Health. On June 24, there was 141 active COVID-19 case in the region.
There are five COVID-19 patient (three oxygenated) at the Isivivana Hospital in Humansdorp, and one COVID-19 patient (oxygenated) at the Humansdorp Hospital.
Some 132 residents have died.
The breakdown per town, as at June 30, was Jeffreys Bay (91), Humansdorp (27), St Francis Bay (9), Patensie (5), Hankey (3), Thornhill (2), Loerie (1), and Oyster Bay (0).
The hot spots are Aston Bay (7), Boskloof (2), Golf Course (3), Hankey (3), Humansdorp Town (15), Jeffreys Bay Central (68), Kruisfontein (1), KwaNomzamo (6), Loerie (1), Ocean View (2), Patensie (5), Pellsrus (3), St Francis Bay (9), Thornhill (2), and Wavecrest (11).
The cumulative total stood at 5 864, including, 5 594 recoveries.
