We are set for good property demand this year.

This is our prediction after a peak season of sublime weather, warm water, fantastic visibility, decent surf, and pleasing property sales. A wonderful season all around.

Looking back, St Francis property sales volumes dropped slightly in 2024, compared to the 2022 peak, although prices continued to rise.

Good News

In addition to national good news like load-shedding and the Bokke, we have also enjoyed local good news. Our big Impofu Dam is now 60% (higher than for several years), whilst our other dam, the Churchill, is still full. (The Kouga Dam is also still full )

And the Kouga Municipality achieved its first clean, unqualified audit.

The beach restoration contract has been delayed, with quotes higher than expected. Let’s hope this can soon be resolved.

Our active Paddling Club has found a new home next to the Greek Taverna. (PS, this is the Time Trial Attendance Trophy winner speaking).

The Cycling Club has provided a safer track next to the tar, most of the way to Humansdorp. It maintains the local 25km MTB loop. (PS, this is your treasurer speaking).

JBay Is Back

Great surfing news that JBay is back on the main tour for 2025. The fickle Killers wave near Bruces performed spectacularly in June, August and October, but with some damage to the Two Harbours Walk.

The Elke M fishing boat wrecked at Shark Point in January was efficiently cleaned up. Likewise, the mess from the containers that went overboard up the coast a few months ago was cleaned up.

Besides a plethora of new houses and renovations, a few developments are underway: Grand Comoros Retirement Village, Quays, and Homestead Views.

Also, the completion of a few others: Port View apartments and St Francis Links Villas, plus the KFC and Fresh Stop buildings at the petrol station.

Pam Golding

Pam Golding St Francis continues to perform: Lois, Dot, Saria, Johan and Krystal again achieved Gold Club status for 2023/2024, ranking them in the top 10% nationwide.

Since the start of our financial year on 1 March, we have made a pleasing 23 sales over R5m, maintaining a substantial local market share.

Our wonderful team, unchanged for the past five years, was bolstered this year with two excellent additions, Dean and Amber.

Raffy

Raffy didn’t win the Calamari Festival Dog Show for his surfing video but did add windsurfing to his watersport achievements.
