As waves go, this weekend was quite a tremendous affair. The giant surf (some forecasts called it 40ft on the wild side) combined with spring high tides, a southerly shift in swell direction and a 19-second swell period culminated in severe wave damage up and down the coast.

PS: Thanks to all those who helped yesterday at Bruce’s after I slipped on the jump-off rock, missed the jump and got hurled over the rocks underwater at quite a ferocious pace. Apparently, it was pretty funny, but I only saw the funny side of it after the doctor at Greenacres gave me some of that proper pain medication.
Glad you are OK after your slip!!
Stay safe.
Thanks Mr Uys!
Sorry to hear about your mishap Jarvi. Hope you are OK. If not, join the club. I still have 5 months of post-op rehab to go after a serious muscle injury incurred at the Bruces jump-off during the last big swell. We can compare notes.
All the best.
Thanks Anton all good. Those rocks can be gnarly. Hope you’re well on the way to recovery.
