We Love To Talk About The Weather
Some say it has been the harshest winter in 40 years, while others say, ‘This is nothing; you should check how cold it has been in Jozi!’
Either way, the weather does come around as a general conversation most days. When any discussion is in danger of drying up, people often bring up the weather and complain of sore bones or a leaking roof to avoid that embarrassment of silence. That conversation is immediately back to full speed, with vigorous interjections and exclamations.
Not that the editorial ‘conversation is running out of steam,’ we just wanted a bit of context behind our weather chat this morning, as it looks like we’re in for some rain during this weekend’s activities. We do hope that it doesn’t slow anyone down too much.
It doesn’t look like too hard, rain, not a downpour, so the PGA Golf Tournament will carry on regardless at The St Francis Links, I’m sure. Sports that take place outdoors will always have to contend with the weather, and at times, it makes for a more exciting spectacle, especially with a R2 Million prize fund. Find out more about the PGA Championship HERE.
The Calamari TOPS Wine Festival will also continue regardless, and why not? There is nothing like a glass of cheerful red when the weather is a bit poep.
With 20 wine farms showcasing their best wines, this will be an exciting evening filled with fun and great times despite the wind and some drizzle.

Interesting that very little is said about the event that started the whole Calamari Festival idea – The Calamari Classic Golf Tournament. This tournament pulls hundreds of players and their families to our Villages every year and as a result, the Bowls, Tennis and other events started happening at the same time.
Wishing all the golfers a great three days of golfing and camaraderie – Making new friends and meeting up with old friends and spending lots of money in the Village’s businesses.
