It has been pretty miz outside. While we are all stoked that there is rain ‘falling in the catchment area’ (possibly the most over-used phrase in media right now), it must be said that this snap of cold weather is starting to bring some of our villagers down. I have seen the effects of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) that some people might be feeling at this late stage of winter.
- Feeling depressed most of the day, nearly every day.
- Losing interest in activities you once enjoyed.
- Experiencing changes in appetite or weight.
- Having problems with sleep.
- Feeling sluggish or agitated.
- Having low energy.
- Feeling hopeless or worthless.
- Having difficulty concentrating.
Remember that it is seasonal, it is easily treatable, and there is light at the end of the tunnel, literally. The sun should come out later today, and then we have patches of sun for the next few days as well as some great weather forecast for Saturday. When the sun is out, go out and enjoy some free vitamin D, it’ll help, and it’ll give you some energy. When you have some energy back, here’s a reminder of what we have going on in St Francis.
