Local athletes excel at 51/50 Triathlon

A few locals did exceptionally well over the weekend  at the Nelson Mandela Bay African Triathlon Series  with Cape St Francis’ Lyn Slogrove taking the top level podium position in the 65 – 69 ladies race. Better known for her golfprowess Lyn is also an active member of the Friday evening  St Francis Open Water Swimmers club and quipped on Whatsapp “our canal swims definitely helped”.

Other who excelled in the event were the Horaks with Petra finishing 5th in the ladies 40 – 45 and Willem winning the overall sprint with Louis de Villiers winning his age group event.

In another Port Elizabeth event well known Debbi Hudson completed her first marathon after a long layoff due to illness includng having to undergo both neck and  heart surgery over the past two years.  Well done D ebbi, what a comeback.
