James Chandler, son of John and Mary-Rose, husband to Shelly, father of Bella and Christian, brother of Marcus, Sophie and Hugo, and brother in law and friend to many, sadly passed away peacefully on Wednesday 30 December after and short but brave fight against cancer.
James and his family lived in St Francis for the last 8 years, where James ran an electrical contractor business.
He loved his family and friends dearly, and was always full of fun and laughter, especially with all the kids that loved and adored him.
His faith carried him and his family through the last trying months and days of his life. He will be terribly missed by his family and friends, but we wish that all will celebrate his life abundantly.
James’ funeral is on Wednesday 6 January at Walmer Methodist church in Main Rd Walmer, at 11:00.
An open celebratory service will be held on Saturday 9 January at 07:00 at Granny’s Pool / Huletts where James’ ashes will be taken and scattered into the surf.
All are welcome, just bring surfboards, boogie boards or anything that floats.
Many thanks to everyone that loved, cared and supported Shelly, James, Bella and Christian and the entire family so wonderfully through this difficult time.
The family requested that donations be made to Hospice in lieu of sending flowers.
Kindest regards,
The Chandler / Anderson families.

I was luck to live across the road from them for a short while,I often watched James playing with his kids through my window. And it was very clear he adored his family. They were such a handsome couple and so devoted. Shelly my heart goes out to you and your children.
James we know where you are, safe in Gods arms.
Very sad news indeed.
James was always so helpful & always willing to go out of his way to assist.
Our thoughts are with his family
He made a positive impression on all who came into contact with him. A genuine soul who did a lot in his short life. obviously there is a greater calling. Strength to the family may they long cherish the wonderful memories. RIP
