ALL Kouga residents have been invited to participate in the drafting of a new five-year Integrated Development Plan (IDP) for Kouga Municipality.
Kouga Executive Mayor, Horatio Hendricks, said the new Council wanted to ensure that everyone had a say in how their communities were governed and developed.
“One-way communities can do this, is by participating actively in the IDP process,” he said. “The IDP is the most important strategic planning tool of a municipality and forms the basis of the budget.
“It captures the service-delivery and development requirements for each ward. These requirements, in turn, determine how the annual budget of the municipality is allocated.
“It is, therefore, critical that communities provide input so as to ensure that the needs of their wards are correctly identified and addressed.”
The municipality will make use of digital platforms and other practical methods to communicate and receive inputs on the IDP.
This includes an online survey at https://forms.office.com/r/JYe04wAqEm. The survey is also available on Kouga Municipality’s website and Facebook Page.
Alternatively, send an SMS or WhatsApp to 078 940 9368 or an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to receive the link to the survey.
Questionnaires are also available at all municipal offices, ward offices and public libraries.
The closing date for input from residents is at 12:00 on Tuesday, March 8.
- Furthermore, a series of public consultation meetings would be held in all 15 wards before the final adoption of the IDP and budget.
All COVID-19 protocol will be adhered to.
