Freedom Cup off to Cape Town

Two local surfers won their respective age groups at the Billabong SA Junior Champs held in Jeffreys Bay from 30 September to 4^th October.  Local lass Chrystal Hulett  clinched the Under 17 title with Kirsty McGillivray of Jeffreys Bay taking the Under 15 title. McGillivray excelled with a perfect 10 in an earlier heat. Both girls have been awarded Protea colours for their continued good performances.

Cape Town surfers walked off with the Freedom Cup with two of the individual titles and eight of the 24 finalists Cape Town ended with 32576 points beating the hosts, Nelson Mandela Bay into second with 27956 points and eThekweni into third.
