Cup of Soup at Rock Lily raises R16000 for Hospice
“Cup of Soup for Hospice” held at Rock Lily in Cape St Francis on the 8th July proved to be a huge success thanks to the generous support of the event. The amazing work by the ladies of the Cape St Francis LadiesTea Club and many others that made a delectable choice of delicious soups which were served with bread, all generously donated, at both the lunchtime and evening events.
At the monthly Cape St Francis Ladies Tea Club get together yesterday, Mike Kimmings, owner of the new music pub Rock Lily on Da Game Road, Cape St Francis, handed over an amount of R16000.00 from the soup sales and donations from the event to an extremely appreciative Cape St Francis Ladies Tea Club Chairlady, Joy Wicks. Much to the surprise of Joy and indeed all the ladies attending the tea, Mike explained that the donations included not only the money raised at the event but also, that the performing musician that evening, Stuart Reece, donated his entire door takings to the cause.
Thanking Mike for his support in not only hosting the event but for also producing all the advertising and promotion that went into making the event such a huge success, Joy said it was thoroughly enjoyed by all and how great it was catching up with so many of those who support this annual event year after year. She further thanked all those who cooked up the soups that were so enjoyed by all those who attended both the lunch and evening functions.
