63 year old arrested with drugs valued nearly R460 000 in Storms River
SA Police Services Uitenhage cluster under which St Francis falls were hard at work this past weekend starting off on Friday when during Operation Fiela II police swooped on Storms River drug house and seized over 200 kilograms of drugs valued nearly R460 000 and arrested a 63-year-old man today.
Around midday, a multidisciplinary team of law enforcers in possession of a search warrant raided a house in Puntjiesbos area, Storms River. Inside the house, police seized 200 kilograms of dagga and 1,7 kilograms of tik (crystal meth) with a street value totalling R458 250 and also seized R 3 404 cash. A 63 year old man was arrested for dealing in drugs and is due to appear in the Humansdorp Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 08 October 2018 on charges of dealing in dagga and crystal meth (tik).
Cluster Commander, Brigadier John Lebok said: “It is unfortunate to see an elderly person being involved in drugs, and we commend responsible residents who are committed in their efforts to assist police in fighting criminal activities in various policing precincts”
And in Joubertina
Police fatally shot a 25-year-old man during a complaint involving an unlicensed firearm in Joubertina on Saturday evening.
It is alleged that at about 08:30pm on Saturday night police were following up information of a man allegedly armed with a firearm in a shack in Rondomskrik area, Joubertina. At the scene, police fatally shot Morgan Botha (25). At this stage, the circumstances that led to the shooting are unknown. Police opened a case of murder, and a docket has been handed over to the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) for investigation.

Police are seeking assistance of the public in solving a murder case after a man was found with multiple stab wounds near the railway lines in Kruisfontein, Humansdorp today.
At about 9:40am on Sunday morning police were alerted by a passer-by about the body of a man lying at Felix Street near the railway lines in Kruisfontein, Humansdorp.
At the scene, police found a man with multiple stab wounds in his upper body. The deceased was identified as Christian Matick (25). Police opened a case of murder and are urging anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect (s) to contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Pieter Prinsloo at 083 301 4465 or 042 200 4718. The information could also be shared via Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
