Message from the Mayor

AS the year 2017 draws to an end, it gives me great pleasure to wish all our residents and visitors a blessed festive season.

Kouga is the ideal place to enjoy the summer holiday and our municipal team will be on full alert to address any service delivery problems which may arise. We would also like to encourage residents to download the new Link app, which makes it easier for residents to report and track service faults in their wards.

The purpose of this supplement is to update our communities on what’s been happening at the municipality since August.

While we made good progress, a matter of great concern is the ongoing drought. Despite the recent rain, dam levels remain critically low and water restrictions are in place. We humbly ask that everyone continues using water very sparingly and only when absolutely necessary.

Please also share this message with visitors so that, together, we can ensure that our towns’ taps don’t run dry this summer.

With warm wishes for Christmas and the new year.

Regards
Elza van Lingen
Executive Mayor Kouga
