The search of Oakley continues after Oyster Bay sightings of this much loved dog that went missing during the holidays
Susan Rae Fox the chairman of St Francis Animal Rescue has reported that a from a resident in Oyster Bay township, has reported that Oakley, the much loved ridgeback that went missing over the holidays has been seen many times in what she referred to as the “Mealielands”. Seven volunteers went out at travelled to Oyster Bay yesterday morning to hunt for Oakley. Stopping first at the Sandwater Primary School, following a tip from the caller who said students at the school hadseen Oakley.
One of the scholars was permitted to leave the classroom to lead us to three maize-farms in the area where Oakley has been seen. The search party then walked from the township to the farms, following pathways Oakley may have taken.
Sadly, Oakley was not found and with thunder, lightning and rain threatening the safety of the searches the search was suspended.
Susan believes that Oakley is still may be in the area however and further searches will be organized in the coming days.
Koba Solmes, the owner of Oakley has been asked that the family return to St Francis Bay and walk this area with the volunteers, calling for Oakley who will hopefully respond to friendly known voices.
A request has also been made for those who own drones to possibly assist in the search by flying over the mealie fields where Oakley has been spotted.
