Collectively Kouga Municipality obtained an overall matric pass rate of 76% for 2024 – Mayor Bornman

“This month, I will be visiting every high school in the Municipality to meet with the school Principals and their Senior Management Teams to hear firsthand what challenges they might have after the fact that collectively Kouga Municipality obtained a 76% pass rate.
I will personally submit a report to our administration on matters we, as a local municipality, can assist with.
A second report outlining challenges within the Provincial Department of Education’s scope of responsibility will be submitted.
Collectively Kouga Municipality

Collectively Kouga Municipality obtained 76%

I launched this programme today and had the privilege of meeting Principal Perils and the enthusiastic learners of Hankey SS.
Improving our matric pass rate and our overall learning environment must require a whole-of-society approach involving Local, Provincial, and National Governments, parents/guardians, and civil society.
I am also using this platform to share the exciting news of our very first Careers Expo, which will take place in Kouga on April 11th and 12th this year.
Thanks also to Cllr August, a former teacher at this school, for her attendance and contributions.”
