Jameson Whisky, one of the trending whisky flavours of the moment, is triple distilled and produced from a blend of grain whiskey and single-pot still whiskey. On a block or two of ice, with soda, or however you prefer your favourite tipple, it is on special until 5 December or until stocks last.

Other specials include Heineken, Hooch and Castle Lights, as well as Richelieu Brandy.

Wine Of The Week

This week, we are looking at Eenzaamheid Chenin Blanc.

With tasting notes that include bruised yellow apples, hay and a touch of beeswax, this is obviously an exceptional and unique chenin.

Attractive bruised yellow apples, hay and a touch of beeswax. The palate displays a lovely richness and a fleshy mid-palate texture. The wine’s crisp acidity perfectly balances the fruit flavours.
The oak never overpowers but instead adds subtle interest. Our Chenin Blanc is known for its exceptional ageing potential and will reward for up to 10 years with careful cellaring.

How To Make Crispy Croissant Ice Cream Sandwiches

Makes 3


  • For The Crispy Croissants
  • 6 SPAR Bakery cocktail (or normal-size) croissants
  • 2 Tbsp SPAR honey
  • 2 Tbsp SPAR brown sugar
  • To Serve
  • SPAR ice cream flavour of choice
  • Chocolate sauce or SPAR Squillos
  • SPAR maraschino cherries or your fruit of choice


  • Flatten each croissant with a rolling pin (leave uncut).
  • In a large pan (non-stick is best), add 2-3 croissants and let them toast on one side first, drizzling the other with honey and then sprinkling with sugar. Flip over, add more honey and sugar, and let both sides toast and caramelise. Cook until golden, toasted and crunchy.
  • Remove and leave to cool for 10 minutes.
  • Add 1-2 balls of ice cream to one croissant, top with another croissant, drizzle with chocolate and add a cherry for serving.
