Mandela Day Fun Golf Event Supported by College Teachers

St Francis College entered a team of very keen, if not especially talented, fun golfers at the 67 Minutes of Fun Golf at St Francis Links in aid of the Talhado Children’s Haven Montessori pre-school. Taking part were teachers Waldo Kapp, Trudi van Olm, Elizabeth Carpenter and Shona Marias ably supported by College parent Grant Marais. The team managed to raise R1500.00
in support of the fledgling preschool in Sea Vista.

Support St Francis Animal Rescue Sea Vista “Street by Street” campaign and donate dog & cat food. The Street by Street initiative ensures that starving dogs in the township receive regular food and nourishment. St Francis Animal Rescue also the Open Your Eyes – Sterilize campaign to reduce the number of ;puuies and kittens born in the township as well as ensuring with the assistance of Nerina Botha of Aloe Veterinary Clinic that all pets are properly innoculated against rabies and other canine and feline diseases.

Please support our local Montessori school.  Talhado Children’s Haven is having a fundraiser at the Links Golf Club on Mandela Day.  The idea is to see how many holes each team can play in 67 minutes by hitting, kicking or throwing the ball.  It will be a shotgun start with 9 teams participating.  The golfers are looking to get pledges from the public … you can pledge per hole played!  If anyone would like more information please contact Cathryn on 0764126090.    Talhado teaches Montessori education to 60 learners and provides two meals a day for the learners.  In addition they run an aftercare which caters to more than 200 older students.  The children can use the computers to research school projects, learn to play chess, and do some fun crafts and games under the supervision of adults.
